Sheldon Lavin is a great man, businessman, and philanthropist who received Global Visionary Award on February 20, 2016. This award is given to great visionaries in different spheres and businesses according to their performance throughout their career and their innovative thinking.

Sheldon Lavin is the fifth man to be honored with this award by the India’s World Academy. It should be emphasized that this award is given to people who managed to do incredible things on their career choice by following their dreams. The entrepreneur and businessman is recognized by the Academy as a man who deserves a reward because, after a successful career in the economy, he managed to make a multi-billion company from a modest local business and expand it to over 70 locations in 17 states. His way to the position as CEO was extended and required of commitment and extreme dedication to carry out his duties professionally. He joined the meat industry more than four decades ago.

Before his involvement in the meat industry, Sheldon Lavin had an enviable reputation in the banking sector, and also he owned successful consulting firm. He joined the meat processing business in 1970, but was previously a financial advisor for “Otto and Sons,” which was the former name of the company where he now represents leading role.

The beginning of his progress and the gaining of all the major leading roles we can relate to the time when the father (Otto) retired, and Sheldon Lavin was appointed as a partner in the company. He agreed to the offer that this business became his only preoccupation on the plan of activities as he was delighted with work ethics, business strategies and the entire organization of the company.

In more than few interviews, he gave to the media, when he was questioned about how did he manage to do develop OSI group as he did. Sheldon Lavin answered that OSI Group isn’t usual entrepreneurial company in which dictates come from the top and workers only blindly listen to orders and work like robots. He stressed that there are some basic rules and strategies, but with that in essence, the company functions as a large family and is growing stronger as time progresses because of his potent leadership.
