Michael Burwell Brings His Experience To Willis Towers Watson

In August 2017, Willis Towers Watson Public Limited Company selected Michael Burwell to be their Chief Financial officer. Mr. Burwell assumed his new duties in October,


bringing with him a total of 31 years’ experience from Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLC. Eleven of those years he spent in assurance practice. He held several positions of leadership during his time at PwC, such as heading up the Transaction Services Group, and the Global Automotive Value Awards Team. His experience in audit and transaction services has given him the ability to evaluate companies, especially in pre-merger situations. He originally began the Detroit division of PwC after achieving a partnership in 1997. After being successful in the Detroit market, he took over the central region Of PwC, eventually serving as the head of the Transaction Service. The leadership skills Michael developed when he became Chief Financial Officer in 2007 led to his being appointed the Chief Operating Officer of PwC in 2008.


Michael Burwell received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Michigan State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Michigan State named him their Alumnus of the year for the year 2010. In addition to Michael Burwell leadership roles with Pricewaterhouse Coopers, he has been a board member with the Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Burwell assumed his duties at Willis Towers after the retirement of Chief Financial Officer Roger Millay on October 2 of last year.
