Inspiration from Kuwait

For a man who grew in Kuwait, and initially wanted to be an engineer, the success he has had in surgery is definitely very assuring. Dr. Saad was inspired to join the noble profession of saving lives while still in Kuwait. Saad realized he was not conditioned to work outdoors which would have been the case had he ventured into engineering. He says the summers in Kuwait would get extremely hot. For a brilliant mind as his, the other sane option was medicine, plus he would work indoors with air conditioning.

Surely it is quite interesting for Dr.Saad to have drawn motivation from Kuwait’s hot summers, but the legacy he has left in the field is second to none. Dr. Saad has dedicated his life and career to improving the lives of others.

Medical student

Dr. Saad’s road to surgery kicked off forty-seven years ago, in Cairo University in Egypt where he attained his medical degree

cv ccc. He was an exceptional medicine student and was second in his class. This he says was fueled by the motivation he had since he came from a humble background.

One cannot underwrite the determination he had as a student. It is this dedication that pushed him to fly to Lebanon to sit for his ECFMG exams while still in his 3rd year. As a result, he was certified to train in the United States.

He would eventually move to the U.S after a short internship in England. In the US he did his residency in pediatric surgery and in general surgery. This gained him the American Board of Surgery certification.

Career in Saudi Arabia

Dr.Saad largely practiced in the US at the Meridian Health Care System where he was the Co-Medical Director and also Surgeon-in-Chief. It was until some years later that he left the States for Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Royal family preferred him to be their pediatric surgeon, seeing that he spoke fluent Arabic and was fully certified to practice.

Dr. Saad gladly took the job and for the next four years and six months, worked at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh.

Dr.Saad remarkably saved a baby who had been admitted with an aneurysm. The baby was the youngest ever to have undergone surgery for such a condition. As a result, an acclaimed international scientific journal published this case for reference and this marks just one of the many milestones that the renowned doctor has achieved in the world of medicine.

Philanthropic work

Dr.Saad has been involved in eight medical missions in Jerusalem and a couple in the US. Apart from working for the Royal Family, Saad had the opportunity to also serve the disadvantaged. This he says taught him that all lives are equal and Dr.Saad does not discriminate on his patients.
