Securus Technologies Raises Record Amount for United Way

While being incarcerated for any crime is a tough punishment for anyone, the incarceration can be equally as challenging and difficult for the family and friends for the convicted individual. Making matters worse is that long-term prisons are often in remote and difficult to access locations, which makes seeing each other very challenging. While seeing a family member in prison can be challenging, Securus Technologies offers family members and convicts with a safe and secure way to communicate.

Securus Technologies now provides an at-home video visitation program called Video Visitation, which provides people the ability to communicate face-to-face while they are apart. Using web cameras connected at both the prison and to your home computer, you will be able to take face-to-face with your loved one. Furthermore, the program allows you to schedule in-person visitations online, without having to call the prison ahead of time.

While Securus Technologies is largely invested in the inmate communication industry, the company is also well known for being very generous and is known for giving huge donations to various charities. Securus Technologies in 2015 gave nearly $350,000 to the United Way. The company had set a corporate goal of donating $290,000, but was able to exceed its goal by nearly 20%.

Securus Technolgies has been a growing donator to the United Way for years. The company started providing donations in 2008 with an initial $30,000 donation, but has increased its donation each year. The donators include the principles of the company as well as many of the employees that are motivated to raise money for a good cause.
