The Rainbow Gathering took place in the Malheur National Forest. Over 20,000 people attended it. The Rainbow Gathering started in 1972. Every year, the festival is held in a different forest. The festival lasts one week and takes place during the first week of July.
The purpose of The Rainbow Gathering is to bring people from different backgrounds together. The goal is to promote peace, harmony and respect among different groups of people. This festival is heavily influenced by the counterculture of the 1960s. It is also influenced by the rock festivals that took place in the 1970s.
There are no official leaders of the Rainbow Gathering. People also do not have to be an official member of a group in order to attend. Law enforcement officials and medical personnel attend the event in order to make sure that everyone is safe. People who attend the event are discouraged from drinking alcohol out of respect for others.
