Jay Gill made it to where he is today by finding his calling to buy and sell used cars, having learned the trade from a friend who did the same. 20 years later the Gill Group has become one of the more profitable car sales groups in the country, boasting six dealerships, 250 employees, and $150 million in annual profit. Jeff Bezos is a billionaire and the owner of Amazon.com. Richard Bransen is the owner of a supsersonic transportation company. Bransen wants to be in space in six months. He envisions a future of thousands of astronauts as well as common people going into space. Jeff Bezos is ranked as the richest person in the world, with a networth of $100 billion, having had the best year out of any billionaire in 2017. Bezos’ networth has increased to $35 billion this year alone. The top 15 billionaires have added $12 billion to their fortunes in just 2017. Mark Zuckerberg is the fourth billionaire on the list, with $74 billion to his networth.
Bezos owns 17% of Amazon, which was founded inside a garage in Seattle in 1994. Bezos had gone to Princeton where he worked at hedge fund but quit in order to sell books online which is why Amazon grew to such heights as it did. Like Bransen, Bezos started a space travel company called Blue Origin that is developing a rocket that is meant to carry passengers eventually.
In 2013, Bezos was flush enough to buy The Washington Post for $250 million. His real-time networth is 98.4 billion. All billionaires started off with a good idea, and were uncertain they were going to make money off of it. Nobody was sure their idea would make money but here they are today, millionaires and billionaires. Jay Gill started off as a blue-collar worker but somehow made it to be a millionaire in used cars. Each billionaire kept plugging away at what would make them money. Some quit school to get to where they are today like Zuckerberg. Anybody can be a billionaire if they try.
